My poor Powerbook...

After 4 harsh years of daily service, my G4 Powerbook is finally showing its age... hopefully I can squeeze out another year or two of use as a backup system.. or maybe I will dismantle it and splice it into a frankensystem :P

It heats up to the point where I'm afraid to leave it on when I'm not around, and today the LCD wigged out.  Now I have a permanent 1" white stripe on the left side of my screen that refuses to go away... what did I do to cause it?  dunno.. I just touched the area that was getting really hot and then something went haywire.  

Could it be related to last year when I went to Taiwan and a colony of microscopic ants made a nest inside my laptop?  It was never quite the same after that...
